The Bird in Hand, Maybury

Visited on Fathers day after we remembered calling in once and had a really good meal.

The pub has own parking, so its easy to park right outside.

The food is excellent, I had the mixed grill which was a real meat feast, Wife had the roast chicken Sunday lunch and the kids had Cheese burgers and chips, topped with real cheese and not the processed stuff.

The service was quick, friendly and unlike a lot of places they even acknowledge that you are standing at the bar with a quick smile and "be with you in a minute". That's something so simple that a lot of places don't do.

For pudding we had Black forest gateaux, Chocolate truffle cake and the kids had Home made strawberry jelly and ice cream, The jelly had real strawberries in and the kids loved it. We all tried each others puddings and couldn't come up with a winner they were all excellent.

The beer was superb I had a Courage best and a Speckled Hen, both well kept and the correct temperature. We sat out side in the garden but there is also a specific restaurant area inside, separate to the bar.

There is nothing for kids to play on, but ours are old enough to be able to amuse themselves (just) in the garden.

We like this pub and will definitely going back.
